Provisional license
 
The first step to learning to drive is to apply for a provisional driving licence from the dvla. This allows you to start driving legally but only whilst supervised by a full licence holder who has had a licence for at least 3 years and is over 21 years old. The car you are using must also be insured for your use.

You can get an application form for your provisional license from the post office or by applying online at www.dvla.gov.uk.

The current fee is £ 50.00.

You can apply for your provisional licence from 2 months before your 17th birthday but you must not drive on the road until your 17th birthday and in possession of your provisional

DON’T FORGET THE ‘L’ PLATES!!
